Award-winning comedian and online sensation Alasdair Beckett-King is making a triumphant return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with his new show, King of Crumbs, running from 30th July to 11th August at the Pleasance Dome (King Dome) at 20:00. Following his sell-out run in 2022, this multi-talented stand-up, known for his sharp wit and offbeat comic sensibility, is set to deliver another hour of erudite, daft, and visually lively comedy that’s “rammed with gags” and rich in characters, as praised by Chortle’s ★★★★★ review.

In King of Crumbs, Alasdair tackles the absurdity of modern times with his signature blend of smart writing and whimsical humour. Playing the role of a medieval whimsy pedlar, he navigates a world where “the milk of human kindness has curdled into the cheese of mistrust—hungrily devoured on the crackers of hatred.” With civilisation crumbling, Alasdair poses the big questions: Who watches the watchmen? Who milks the milkmen? Why do ducks quack at the speed they walk? These are the mysteries that plague the King of Crumbs, and he’s here to solve them—or at least distract us with a funny story about biscuits.
