On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, dram-rock newcomers Aurelia return with their new single Angelina, a harmony-drenched exploration of romance and emotional collapse.
Cardiff five-piece Aurelia have officially released their new single, Angelina, fusing scuffed glamour with heavy choruses, creating a theatrical alternative rock sound driven by sharp pop sensibilities.

Behind the Studio Process
Recorded in Newport with acclaimed producer Richard Jackson, Angelina came together through an entirely instinct-driven approach. The band entered the studio with just a basic demo and ambition, relying on an experimental process in the live room.
They stacked harmonies, counter melodies, and layered textures to courageous extremes. Running under three minutes, the song manages to balance immense sonic density with immediate, clear-cut melodies.
Influences and Vocal Dynamics
The band drew inspiration from two distinct musical worlds during production. The blurred emotional enormity of My Bloody Valentine met the rich vocal interplay of The Mamas & The Papas.
At the center of the track sits a two-handed vocal performance. The lead male vocal is softened by female backing, creating an overlapping dynamic as the lyrical relationship fractures. This technique blurs the line between comfort and self-deception, giving listeners space to project their own memories and regrets.

Building Momentum in Cardiff
Angelina follows earlier BBC Introducing Wales support for previous singles Out Of Sight and Get Away. The new track pushes the self-styled dram-rock band further into dramatic extremes.
