The Inspiration Behind the Project

Translating to “little island of peace,” ISLA TRANQUILITA functions as a deeply personal tribute to CASANDRA’s late great-aunt Teresa. A Cuban émigré, Teresa provided a guiding source of comfort throughout the artist’s childhood in Miami. Whenever overwhelm struck, Teresa offered a simple reminder to find calm amid chaos by saying “tranquilita.” Years later, CASANDRA translates that enduring sentiment into an audio sanctuary honoring her aunt’s memory.

A Cinematic Blend of Sound and Heritage

Thriving in duality, the album pairs vibrant, rhythm-driven production with intimate storytelling. The project blends alt-pop, R&B, and electronic influences to transport listeners to a dreamlike paradise where joy, longing, grief, and healing coexist.
