Miami-born, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer CASANDRA has officially released her brand-new 6-track EP, ISLA TRANQUILITA.
Translating directly to “little island of peace,” the project serves as a deeply personal homage to her late great aunt Teresa. A Cuban émigré, Aunt Teresa acted as a vital source of comfort during CASANDRA’s childhood in Miami. Whenever the artist felt overwhelmed, her aunt would offer the gentle reminder “tranquilita”—a quiet cue to pause, breathe, and center oneself. This new EP captures that exact essence, translating a personal emotional anchor into a sonic sanctuary.
Exploring Duality Through Cinematic Soundscapes
ISLA TRANQUILITA thrives on the power of duality, effortlessly pairing vibrant, rhythmic production with raw, vulnerable storytelling. Merging elements of alt-pop, R&B, and electronic textures, the project delivers immersive tracks designed to transport listeners to an open, enigmatic paradise.
Writing seamlessly in both English and Spanish, CASANDRA draws heavily from her Cuban heritage. The result is a soundscape that feels expansive, emotionally precise, and entirely her own.
