The Meaning Behind the Music
“Sorry You’re Not Sorry” targets the exact moment someone stops begging closed doors to open. Acceptance takes center stage when choosing closure over waiting for apologies that never arrive. Pain and pleasure share space in the brain, which inspires the blurred lines found throughout the music.
A Biblical Visual Celebration
The accompanying music video features the Haus Of Cherry, a troupe of dancers, drag queens, showgirls, and divas. Feather boas, towering heels, and ballroom aesthetics channel the visual energy of cult classics like The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet. Atwood Magazine debuted the video and praised the release as a glittering, feverish pop exorcism.

Festival Debut and Future Plans
Cherry Bomb makes a solo debut at the All Things Go music festival in New York City on September 27. The festival features the first-ever all women-led lineup for a major musical event, alongside artists like MUNA, Grace Ives, hemlocke springs, and Carly Rae Jepsen. Future releases will continue combining energetic synth pop melodies with anthemic rock lyrics.
The Evolution of Cherry Bomb
Mandy Lee spent over a decade leading the alt-pop band MisterWives across four studio albums, one live album, one deluxe album, and numerous world tours. Cherry Bomb now builds a distinct sonic universe inspired by icons like Madonna and Blondie. Previous singles include the debut track “Never Be Me (M★ther★cker)” and the Y2K-inspired follow-up “Digital Girl,” establishing a genre Lee defines as popera.
