FUN
Ella Rosa’s new single, “FUN,” is a genre-bending triumph. Fearlessly fusing UK garage, drum and bass, R&B, and bedroom-pop, she crafts a sound that’s uniquely her own.
Hypnotic melodies intertwine with infectious, pulse-pounding production, while her vocals – sweet yet commanding – pull listeners into a world of irresistible beats and captivating rhythms. “FUN” solidifies Ella Rosa’s position as an innovative force in the ever-evolving landscape of left-of-center pop.
I came up with the concept of ‘FUN’ when things were not fun at all. I had just moved to a daunting new city and felt pressure to fit in with the ‘cool kids.’ I fell into a weird little crown and discovered a mischievous side to myself I actually grew to love. I wrote the song in third person because, at the time, I struggled with disassociation and it felt like I was watching my life unfold from the sidelines. I wanted that feeling of eerie detachment to come through in the music, which is why the track almost sounds spooky.

Ella Rosa
Ella’s musical journey began unexpectedly. At just 11 years old, she uprooted from the English countryside for the bustling energy of New York City. Feeling a pang of homesickness, she found solace in the sounds of home – UK garage, drum and bass, and the infectious pop anthems of the Spice Girls. This early exposure ignited a passion that would define her future.
College saw Ella leading a double life: by day, she dedicated herself to the discipline of opera, while by night, she immersed herself in the vibrant underground music scene. Here, she forged connections with DJs, lending her vocals to their electronic tracks and discovering a new avenue for her artistic expression.
Yearning to further explore her unique sound, Ella made a bold decision in her third year of college: she returned to the UK, embracing the roots of her musical inspiration.
Now back in Los Angeles, Ella continues to evolve as an artist. Her single “OFF+ON” with veggi achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 1 million streams. Collaborations with renowned producers like Anwar Sawyer (Audrey Nuna, Rihanna), Jeff Shum (Ella Mai, Demi Lovato), and CAMBO (Doja Cat, Steve Lacy) have further refined her gritty, genre-bending sound.
With her edgy aesthetics and effortlessly cool vibe, Ella has already captivated the attention of tastemakers, including PAPER, Complex, and The Cut. Now signed with Palm Tree Records, she is poised to become a leading force in the ever-evolving landscape of pop music.
