On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, Eva Under Fire are back with their explosive new album, Villainous, unleashing the powerful title track featuring In This Moment’s Maria Brink, while launching a Mental Health Awareness donation drive.
Detroit hard rock band Eva Under Fire has announced their highly anticipated sophomore album Villainous, set for release on July 10 via Better Noise Music. The follow-up to their 2022 debut Love, Drugs & Misery promises to deliver more of the band’s signature blend of emotional depth and high-energy rock anthems.

Title Track Single and Maria Brink Feature
To celebrate the announcement, Eva Under Fire have dropped the video for the album’s title track and first radio single, “Villainous,” which features a guest appearance from In This Moment frontwoman Maria Brink. The song combines crunchy industrial rock elements reminiscent of late ’90s and early 2000s rock with a fresh, modern edge, highlighted by the dynamic dual female vocal interplay between Amanda Lyberg and Brink.
The track explores themes of defiance and empowerment. It tells the story of breaking free from expectations, setting personal boundaries, and claiming one’s truth—even when it leads others to view that strength as villainous. The collaboration brings together two powerful female voices in hard rock united by a message of reclaiming personal power.
Mental Health Awareness Partnership
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, the band has added a “Donate” button directly in the “Villainous” music video. Fans can easily contribute to To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing hope and support for individuals facing depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. The initiative aligns closely with the themes in the video and throughout the new album. The fundraiser will remain active through the end of May 2026.
Amanda Lyberg’s Therapeutic Approach to Music
As both a licensed therapist and singer-songwriter, Amanda Lyberg brings unique emotional insight to Eva Under Fire’s music. Her background in psychology informs the band’s songwriting process, creating space for open dialogue and authentic expression among members. Lyberg earned her Master of Arts in Psychology in 2018 and has worked at a Detroit mental health clinic while maintaining an active music career. She currently practices as a psychotherapist specializing in trauma, grief, loss, and addiction recovery.
Lyberg’s personal experiences—including the loss of her father to a fentanyl overdose in 2018 and her mother’s subsequent journey to six years of sobriety—deeply influence the band’s honest approach to heavy topics. Her story was also the subject of the award-winning 2023 short film My Rockstar, which prominently featured Eva Under Fire’s music.
