On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, Fran Healy of Travis joins David Magidoff (Dexter) for an unmissable run of the hilarious improvised musical comedy Making Love with David Magidoff at the Edinburgh Fringe from 7–23 August.
Travis frontman Fran Healy will appear as a guest performer in the improvised musical comedy Making Love with David Magidoff during its run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August. The show is scheduled at Assembly George Square from 7 to 23 August, with performances at 8:05pm. Healy, the lead singer and songwriter of the Scottish rock band Travis, will join on selected dates.

About the Show
Making Love with David Magidoff is an improvised musical comedy that transforms real-life love stories into fully staged musicals each night. Host David Magidoff interviews a celebrity guest about a personal romantic tale, which the ensemble cast and band then turn into a live, unpredictable musical performance.
The format blends humor, theater, music, and absurdity, creating a warm and entertaining experience that has already proven popular with audiences.
Fran Healy’s Connection
Healy first experienced the show during a December performance in Los Angeles and was so impressed that he encouraged Magidoff to bring it to the Edinburgh Fringe, describing it as an ideal fit for the festival’s eclectic spirit. As the principal songwriter behind Travis hits and the UK number-one album The Man Who, Healy brings significant musical pedigree to the guest lineup.
Travis have sold over 10 million records worldwide, released ten studio albums, and earned multiple BRIT Awards for British Album of the Year.

Additional Guests and Cast
BAFTA-nominated comedian Rosie Jones is also confirmed, with further guest announcements expected. The core cast features an impressive array of talent:
- Stephanie Courtney (Mad Men, Progressive’s Flo) – Longtime Groundlings improviser.
- Kimberly Condict (Shrinking, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) – Recurring Apple TV+ star.
- Propaganda (Jason Petty) – Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist, speaker, and host of the Hood Politics podcast.
- Josh Cake – Award-winning poet and performer from Melbourne, now based in Edinburgh.
- Karen Hall (Glee) – Accomplished cellist who is also bringing her own solo show Delusions and Grandeur to the Fringe.
Sold-Out Success in Los Angeles
The production comes to Edinburgh hot off a sold-out, three-year run at Los Angeles’ Elysian Theater. Previous guests in LA have included Tony Hale (Veep), Michael C. Hall (Dexter), and Oscar Nuñez (The Office). The show’s unpredictable nature was highlighted when one guest’s spouse famously jumped onstage to correct the retelling of their own proposal story.
David Magidoff, known for his role as Sheriff Teddy Reed in Dexter: Resurrection and Dexter: New Blood, as well as appearances in The Morning Show and High Potential, leads the show with his signature blend of emotional storytelling and sharp comedy.
Why It’s a Must-See at the Fringe
Making Love with David Magidoff stands out for its mix of celebrity guests, high-caliber improvisers, and original musical creations crafted in real time. With its combination of heart, humor, and theatrical flair, the show promises memorable nights that capture the spontaneous energy the Edinburgh Fringe is famous for.
