On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, Brick Lane Music Hall’s cheeky 2026 adults-only pantomime, Jack and His Giant Stalk, brings riotous laughs, naughty twists on the classic tale, stellar performances, and a delicious three-course meal to Silvertown.
Jack And His Giant Stalk
Brick Lane Music Hall is thrilled to unveil its 2026 pantomime for grown-ups, Jack and His Giant Stalk, running from 22 January to 7 March 2026. True to the venue’s signature style, every performance includes a generous three-course lunch, dinner, or afternoon tea, depending on the show time, combining riotous entertainment with a proper meal in true British Music Hall tradition.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of Brick Lane Music Hall receiving the Nigel Ellacott Special Recognition Award for Pantomime History, Tradition and Heritage at the 2025 UK Pantomime Awards. This prestigious accolade honours the venue’s longstanding commitment to preserving the legacy of British pantomime and Music Hall, including its displays of historic posters, costumes, and memorabilia from legends such as Danny La Rue.

Written and Directed by Award-Winning Lucy Hayes
Jack and His Giant Stalk is written and directed by Lucy Hayes, who returns to the venue following the success of last year’s Pinocchio and His Wooden Whopper. Hayes is a celebrated playwright and director whose credits include Bitter Lemons, which debuted at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe to four-star reviews from The Stage and The Scotsman, transferred to London’s Park Theatre in 2024, and won the Pleasance Edinburgh National Partnership Award. Her other work spans Bonsai Baby at Theatre503, But Still Michael Grew for BBC Radio Bristol, and a nomination for the BBC Popcorn Writing Award.
A Cheeky Twist on a Classic Tale
Set in the delightfully named town of Loosebottom, the story follows Dame Fanny Trott and her son Jack Trott as they battle eviction—and potential murder—after the villainous Poison Ivy and the Giant’s Wife secretly hike their rent to bankroll an all-inclusive getaway to Magaluf. Their only hope rests with the local fairy, the Spirit of the Beans, whose powers mysteriously grow stronger the drunker he becomes.
Expect farcical comedy, contemporary satire, extravagant costumes, larger-than-life characters, and a cloud-top castle featuring a suspiciously “traitorous” new turret design—all delivered with the irreverent humour that has become Brick Lane Music Hall’s hallmark.

Family Affair: Vincent Hayes MBE Joins the Cast
Lucy Hayes has cast her father, Brick Lane Music Hall founder and resident compere Vincent Hayes MBE, in the role of Willy Trott. Vincent’s career began with the Royal Shakespeare Company before he became a fixture in variety, pantomime, and television—including warm-up work on Top of the Pops. He was awarded an MBE in 2013 for services to British Music Hall and for the Brick Lane Music Hall Charity, which provides outreach performances to care homes and hospices across the South East.
