On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, discover “Leading Beyond Results” by Markus Draeger, an inspiring English edition of his acclaimed German bestseller that empowers leaders, HR professionals, and cultural architects to shift perspectives, dismantle limiting beliefs, and build sustainable high-performing teams through a human-centered blend of business acumen and sport psychology.
When it comes to leadership, few voices are as refreshingly reflective and forward-thinking as Markus Draeger’s. Following the success of his German book Neue Denk Räume, the author and leadership coach is now set to release the English edition, Leading Beyond Results, on 13th November 2025. The book explores how leaders can build sustainable, high-performing cultures that prioritise people as much as performance.
We caught up with Markus to discuss his motivation for writing the book, the philosophy behind it, and how his own career transformation shaped the ideas at its core.

What motivated you to write the book?
“When my German book Neue Denk Räume was published in January 2025, I was asked about my motivation to write it,” Markus explains. “To put it in a nutshell: it was the changed perspective on recurring problems.”
That shift in perspective became the foundation for Leading Beyond Results. Markus challenges readers to rethink what leadership truly means and to ask themselves: When was the last time you changed your perspective? What did that make possible that didn’t seem possible before?
What do you hope readers will do differently after reading the book? Who do you hope will read it?
“The book is recommended for anyone who has a significant impact on a company’s culture,” Markus says. “That means it should be read by everyone working in an organisation because everyone is a cultural architect.”
While his philosophy applies at all levels, Markus believes the book will particularly resonate with leaders and executive teams. “I hope it helps them reflect, redefine success, performance, and leadership in a way that enables them to build a high-performing culture; one that delivers results in a healthy and sustainable way.”
He adds, “I hope readers will identify the roadblocks and limiting beliefs that have prevented them from getting there. That they’ll learn to proactively drive results, rather than be driven by them. To become success and performance coaches rather than result managers. To reflect and respond rather than react. To listen and ask instead of rushing to give advice.”
Beyond leadership teams, Markus is also passionate about the potential of HR professionals.
“The HR or ‘People & Culture’ departments are, unfortunately, far less impactful than they could be. Instead of proactively shaping culture, they often get lost in daily administrative work and the latest trends. By reading this book, I hope they’ll redefine their role and see how to become truly impactful cultural architects.”
How has your own career change influenced your coaching philosophy?

“My whole philosophy has changed since I gained new perspectives,” Markus reflects. “After leading global teams in marketing and in-house consulting for almost 20 years, I later looked through the lens of HR. Then I gained a sport psychological perspective; researching the success criteria of elite teams and athletes, and working with some of them. That inspired me to reflect on traditional, deeply rooted patterns of thinking in business. Without that outside-in perspective, I don’t think I could have developed this revised philosophy.”
And what keeps you grounded?
“I’m grounded as a person anyway! I live in a small village near Denmark; one of the happiest regions in Europe. I have a happy family life with my wife, our 18-year-old daughter, our horse, and our cat. We love travelling across Europe in our campervan and enjoy stand-up paddling, running, and yoga. I also get a lot of energy from working with young athletes and seeing them thrive.”
A New Vision for Leadership
Leading Beyond Results is more than a leadership manual – it’s an invitation to reflect, to redefine what success looks like, and to lead in a way that creates both performance and purpose.
Draeger’s blend of business insight and sport psychology offers a refreshing, human-centred perspective for anyone ready to lead with depth, awareness, and sustainable impact.
