Jordan wrote “Missing Me” after an unexpected run-in with an ex at a bar nearly a year after their relationship ended. At the time, she appeared completely cold and unaffected, giving him almost nothing emotionally during the encounter.

Later, a friend shared that she had completely fallen apart emotionally after he left the venue. That glaring contrast between external composure and hidden inner turmoil became the emotional core of the song.
