On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, Rifco Theatre Company’s smash-hit musical Frankie Goes to Bollywood returns bigger and bolder for its 2026 UK tour, blending heartfelt British storytelling with explosive Bollywood glamour, original songs by Harry Anand, and joyous spectacle.
Frankie Goes To Bollywood
After a smash-hit run that drew over 35,000 audience members—with a remarkable 63% attending theatre for the first time—Rifco Theatre Company’s acclaimed musical Frankie Goes to Bollywood is back on the road in 2026. This high-energy celebration of dreams, identity, and Bollywood glamour features brand-new songs by composer Harry Anand, delivering an even richer, more immersive Bollywood sound.

At its heart is the uplifting story of Frankie, an ordinary girl from Huddersfield suddenly launched into the dazzling world of Bollywood stardom. As she chases fame under bright lights and big dreams, she grapples with what she’s willing to risk and sacrifice. Blending heartfelt British storytelling with explosive choreography, lavish costumes, pulsing rhythms, and irresistible Bollywood magic, the show bursts with ambition, love, laughter, and spectacle.
A Stellar Cast Bringing the Magic to Life
The production shines with a dynamic ensemble of British South Asian talent, perfectly capturing the show’s vibrant spirit:
Sarah Pearson

Sarah Pearson stars as Frankie, the small-town dreamer thrust into the spotlight. Known for her roles in the BBC drama Virdee, Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder (Edinburgh Fringe/UK Tour), and more, Pearson brings depth and joy to the lead. She shared: “I am so excited to be playing Frankie in this wonderful musical. This show reflects and celebrates British South Asian experiences in a way that feels deeply personal and long overdue. I am honoured to contribute to a story that resonates with our community and beyond. A story with honesty and heart.”
Akshay Datta

Akshay Datta plays idealistic young director Prem, guiding Frankie through the glamour. With training in India, New York, Los Angeles, and Indian classical music, plus screen credits like Jawan and Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Datta adds passion and charisma.
Meher Pavri

Meher Pavri is Mallika, the fierce Queen of Bollywood unwilling to relinquish her crown. A versatile star of opera, theatre, and international tours—including Mahabharata at the Barbican and Lincoln Center—Pavir brings commanding presence.
Luke Suri

Luke Suri delivers comic energy as Shona, Frankie’s bold, extravagant confidant. Fresh from Jersey Boys (Trafalgar Theatre/UK tour) and cruise line vocals, Suri infuses the role with fun and flair.

Ankur Sabharwal

Ankur Sabharwal portrays Raju King, Bollywood royalty from a storied dynasty. With decades in musical theatre—including Monsoon Wedding: The Musical and Rifco’s own productions—Sabharwal lends regal depth.
Katie Stasi

Katie Stasi reprises Goldy, Frankie’s loyal best friend across the miles (originating the role in 2024). Her credits include Māyā (Soho Place) and Betty Blue Eyes, bringing warmth and friendship to the stage.
