On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, soul sensation Katie Tupper announces her highly anticipated debut album Greyhound, a confessional blend of prairie-rooted introspection and modern R&B grooves exploring love, independence, and the chase for the unattainable.

Rising Canadian artist Katie Tupper has revealed her highly anticipated debut full-length album, Greyhound, scheduled for release on January 21, 2026, via Arts & Crafts.

The announcement coincides with the arrival of her new single Right Hand Man, a funk-driven track that explores the tensions between independence and codependence in relationships.

Even before releasing a full album, Tupper has achieved significant milestones. Her two previous EPs, Towards The End (2022) and Where To Find Me (2023), have collectively garnered over 22 million streams worldwide. She also earned a JUNO Award nomination for Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year. On social media, her short-form content has exploded, amassing more than 35 million views across platforms.

Tupper’s live performances have seen strong demand, including sold-out shows in major U.S. cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago ahead of her official American debut, with additional dates planned.

Her recent single Tennessee Heat has continued this momentum, approaching one million streams on Spotify in just over a month since its release.

Greyhound

Greyhound serves as a confessional project, reflecting on lessons learned and elements left behind in life. Produced by Tupper’s longtime touring collaborators Justice Der (known for work with Rachel Bobbitt and Dylan Sinclair) and Felix Fox (from BADBADNOTGOOD), the album represents a homecoming to her Saskatchewan roots while incorporating years of broader experiences.

The title draws from the metaphor of racing greyhounds chasing an elusive mechanical rabbit on a track—always pursuing something designed to remain just out of reach. This imagery mirrors dynamics in relationships and personal behavior, where one can simultaneously chase the unattainable and become the unattainable for others.

The album evokes the vastness of prairie landscapes, with endless skies and golden fields, layered against the energy of urban sidewalks and skylines Tupper has embraced in recent years.

Love forms the core theme, spanning romantic, platonic, and place-based connections. The record captures the intimacy of late-night conversations with close friends—pointing fingers, owning mistakes, and openly examining emotions—all with a nuanced honesty that avoids excessive seriousness. It paints a picture of riding off into the sunset, a sonic tribute to the expansive Saskatchewan plains.

Spotlight on “Right Hand Man”

Right Hand Man stands out as a groovier, funkier entry compared to earlier singles from the album. It delves into the complex beauty and burden of dependency, particularly the pressure of becoming someone’s sole source of happiness in a relationship. This dynamic can complicate decision-making and challenge personal independence, especially for someone accustomed to self-reliant partnerships.

The track highlights Tupper’s experience navigating codependence for the first time and the difficulties it presented.
