I wanted to create a modern-day, book version of a Frank Capra (It’s a Wonderful Life) film. I desperately want to rekindle the deep emotion that a good Christmas story can bring. Melding the cold aspect of corporate business with the fantastical world of Santa Claus, I believe, achieves that goal.

Writing is in Coppel’s blood; he is the son of celebrated screenwriter Alec Coppel, famous for penning classics like Vertigo. Before focusing full-time on fiction, Coppel held senior operations roles for entertainment giants Warner Bros. and Universal Studios, and served as Director of Operations for UCLA’s Film School, where he also taught advanced screenwriting.
