Spittake
Rising indie-rock artist Meg Elsier is set to release a deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed debut album, Spittake, on July 25 through Bright Antenna Records. The expanded release features 17 tracks, including a live recording, previously unreleased demos, and B-sides that provide an intimate, unpolished look into the creative process behind one of 2024’s standout debut albums.
The deluxe edition showcases Elsier’s signature sound—a fusion of dreamy shoegaze, gritty guitars, and introspective lyrics—while offering fans a raw, vulnerable perspective on her artistry. The additional tracks highlight the beauty in the unfinished and imperfect, reflecting the emotional and creative choices that shaped Spittake. Elsier’s approach emphasizes authenticity, aiming to connect with listeners by revealing the human side of her music-making process, a theme that will carry into her future work.
Leading the deluxe release is the single “sportscar [scrapped],” which dropped on June 18. The track blends introspective indie-pop with alt-rock energy, starting with delicate vulnerability before building into a powerful, driving chorus that captures a sense of emotional momentum.
