“I <3 the ‘80s” serves as the lead single for the band’s forthcoming album, Men Without Hats On The Moon, expected in mid-October. Recorded at Black Stove Studios on Vancouver Island, the track was crafted with the expertise of Grammy and Juno winner Brian Howes, mixed by industry veteran Mark Needham, and mastered by Howie Weinberg. Men Without Hats

Formed in Montreal in 1977, Men Without Hats rose from basement gigs to global fame with their infectious synth-pop sound. Hits like “The Safety Dance” and “Pop Goes The World” have transcended their era, becoming cultural touchstones in sports chants, movie soundtracks, and internet memes. With 31 million YouTube views and nearly 10 million monthly Spotify listeners, the band’s influence remains undeniable, resonating with both longtime fans and newer audiences.

The release of the single coincides with Men Without Hats’ first UK and EU tour in nearly a decade, starting August 21 at The Old Woollen in Leeds. The tour will take the band through major stops like Edinburgh Fringe, Liverpool, Utrecht, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo, before concluding in Malmö on September 17. Fans can anticipate a high-energy setlist featuring beloved classics, rare tracks, and new songs, all delivered with the band’s signature charisma and retro enthusiasm.

The current lineup—Ivan Doroschuk on vocals, Sahara Sloan on keyboards and vocals, Sho Murray on guitar, and Adrian White on drums—brings a fresh yet familiar energy. Sahara, daughter of founding member Colin Doroschuk, adds a generational layer to the band’s story with her synth skills and harmonious vocals. Fans can also enjoy the band’s recently released live album from their 2024 North American tour, available on vinyl and streaming since February 2025.
