On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, Miami Art Week ignites December 3 as the Museum of Graffiti celebrates its 6th anniversary with JonOne’s explosive solo show El Tiguere, the historic Origins exhibition, a live painting studio, and a three-day outdoor blowout packed with open bars, artist battles, and free limited-edition art.
The Museum Of Graffiti
The Museum of Graffiti, the world’s first museum dedicated exclusively to graffiti art and recently ranked among the best museums in the United States by U.S. News & World Report, is pulling out all the stops for Miami Art Week 2025.
To mark its 6th anniversary, the Wynwood institution will unveil a complete exhibition overhaul on December 3, headlined by El Tiguere, a powerful new solo exhibition by legendary artist JonOne (John Andrew Perello), alongside the semi-permanent Origins show tracing graffiti’s historic journey from subway cars to global galleries.

El Tiguere: JonOne’s Explosive Tribute to Hustle and Resilience
Born in Harlem in 1963, JonOne began bombing trains under the tag JonOne156 before co-founding the influential 156 All Starz crew in 1984. A pivotal move to Paris in 1987 transformed him from street writer to internationally celebrated painter. El Tiguere — Dominican slang for a street-smart hustler who survives through grit and ingenuity — chronicles that improbable ascent through vibrant, movement-packed canvases that drip with color and energy.
For the first time in Miami, visitors will experience JonOne painting live inside the Museum’s brand-new working studio. On opening day, December 3, the artist will deliver a special performance, transforming blank walls with the same explosive style that earned him France’s Legion of Honour in 2015 and a permanent commission at the French National Assembly.

Origins: A Time Capsule of Graffiti’s Birth and Evolution
The companion exhibition Origins immerses visitors in graffiti’s DIY roots. The experience begins by walking through a recreated 1970s hardware store stocked exclusively with Rust-O, Rust-Oleum’s new artist-grade spray paint line — a nod to the industrial cans that once fueled an outlaw movement.
The centerpiece is a historic reunion: original 1973 paintings by United Graffiti Artists (UGA) pioneers PHASE2, FLINT 707, SNAKE 1, and COCO144, unseen in public since their debut gallery showing over fifty years ago.

Three-Day Outdoor Celebration: Art, Music, Open Bars & Brand Activations
