The Journey From The X Factor to Pop Stardom

The performer first captured public attention during the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009, finishing as the runner-up. Rather than fading away after the show, a prolific recording career quickly took shape, allowing record sales to outpace many of his competition peers.

Over the years, the singer expanded his footprint into television as well. Notable presenting and coaching roles include co-hosting The Xtra Factor alongside Caroline Flack and serving as a coach on The Voice UK.

Chart-Topping Hits and Collaborative Success

A trademark upbeat, dance-pop sound defines much of the discography, fueled by major chart-topping singles like “Please Don’t Let Me Go”, “Heart Skips a Beat”, “Dance with Me Tonight”, and “Troublemaker”. Collaborations with high-profile artists such as Flo Rida, Rizzle Kicks, Demi Lovato, and Travie McCoy further cemented his pop credentials.

Across multiple studio albums spanning from his 2010 self-titled debut to later releases like Never Been Better and Knees Up, the performer has consistently co-written his own material. This hands-on approach keeps the songwriting personal while maintaining a heavily infectious radio-friendly appeal.
