On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, Oswald Slain channeled a year of creative reflection into the humorous and bruised new single ‘Heaven Is The Place’.
Oswald Slain returned with the release of the new single ‘Heaven Is The Place’. This bruised and humorous track serves as a candid ode to pub gardens, local watering holes, and life’s small pleasures.

The Creative Roots Behind the Music
Born inside a home studio in Bristol, Oswald Slain reflects a period of deep personal growth and musical evolution. Lyricist Fitz channels sincere songwriting alongside the timeless swagger of old retro rock records. The project draws inspiration from classic Americana while keeping the gritty and energetic rock essence familiar from previous releases.
Momentum and Past Releases
The journey began with the debut EP ‘KISS ME ON THE MOUTH’ in April 2025. That initial release earned support from SiriusXM, Apple Music editorial, Rough Trade’s ‘Counter Culture’, Ones To Watch, RTÉ, KUTX, and ASBO Magazine.
Momentum continued with the debut album ‘BUCKY”.This raw record documented self-destruction and reinvention, earning festival slots at Shambala, The Great Estate, Kendal Calling, Wilderness Festival, and New York City’s New Colossus Festival.

Inside the New Single
Recorded at a DIY home studio with Ryan Rogers from Mumble Tide, the single features mixing by Jon Logan. Mastering was handled by Pete Maher, whose credits include Pixies, Paul Weller, Nick Cave, and Jack White.
Driving drums, soaring soundscapes, and heartfelt vocals underpin the track. Fitz spent a full year writing the piece before finding the final spark after visiting the Sugar Loaf in Bristol for a pint following a hiatus from drinking.
Behind the Live Performances
Oswald Slain delivers charismatic live shows defined by humour, soul, and heartfelt sincerity. Performances seamlessly blend driving rhythms and fuzzy guitars with reflective depth. Audiences can expect to laugh and dance one minute before feeling heartbreak the next.
