The idea for the series came to Parsons late one night after a shift, when he realized the need for a resource that could bridge the gap in children’s understanding of emergency services. By blending real-world experiences with engaging storytelling, he’s created a series that not only educates but also inspires respect and curiosity for the people who save lives daily.

Ultimately, I think it’s vital young children understand what the ambulance service is, what it does, how it operates and how to access it appropriately. But the stories had to be relatable, hence why everything is wrapped up with characters and adventure that will keep children gripped until the very last page. Our NHS is such a wonderful thing, and I’m extremely proud to be helping youngsters understand it better.

I’ve got volume three about to hit the shelves, with a long-term goal of releasing enough books to fund a retreat where people can get support, particularly with mental health struggles. More help is needed in this area and, if I can use these books as a fundraising tool, it will be lifechanging.
