This summer marks the beginning of a monumental rollout. On Friday, July 3, 2026, Smith will release his highly anticipated new book, Rogue Shakespeare’s Sonnets – Truth in Verse – Part I: The Path to Enlightenment in the Brave New World. Featuring his first 1,000 sonnets, the publication signals a feat of poetic endurance never before seen in world literature.

Shattering Literary Records

To put Smith’s output into perspective, William Shakespeare famously authored 154 sonnets, and William Wordsworth penned roughly 600. Smith’s closest historical rival, the Golden Age Spanish poet Lope de Vega, wrote around 3,000.

With more than 3,370 personal, spiritual, political, and prophetic sonnets now under his belt, Smith has comfortably surpassed them all.

The upcoming summer release is only the first phase of an ambitious trilogy. Part II is scheduled for publication in December 2026, followed by Part III in the summer of 2027. Once complete, this trilogy will bring Smith’s published total to 2,702 sonnets.

A 17-Year Secret Diary in Strict Verse

At its core, this massive body of work serves as a deeply personal, spiritual verse diary chronicling the life of Smith’s alter ego, ‘Rogue Shakespeare’. Written continuously between November 20, 2007, and September 11, 2024, the poems document a 17-year journey across the globe, spanning life in England, Florida, Australia, New York, California, Denmark, France, and Spain.

Much like the historic diaries of Samuel Pepys, Smith’s work captures a detailed picture of the contemporary world. However, this masterpiece goes beyond a standard historical record. Written in strict rhyming iambic pentameter, the collection is intensely political, unflinchingly personal, and eerily prophetic, challenging the modern global order while exposing the artist’s inner soul.

The foundation for this project was laid in 2012 when Smith published his first 500 sonnets in 500 Shakespearean Sonnets: The Diary of a Poetic Quest for Truth. That initial collection garnered widespread critical acclaim, with major literary and cultural publications praising it as a candid, philosophical, and splendidly contemporary tour de force. The Mindset of a Champion

Smith’s relentless work ethic and dedication to his craft can be traced back to his youth. Long before he was a celebrated poet, he trained from ages five to fifteen to become a professional tennis player. At just thirteen, he defeated a player who would go on to become Britain’s Men’s Number 1.

Though a severe injury at age fifteen permanently derailed his Wimbledon ambitions, Smith channeled that same champion’s focus, iron-clad resilience, and intense discipline into the arts.

He went on to read Theatre Studies at Trinity College, Dublin, on a full European Union scholarship, graduating as the highest-achieving student in his year.

Beyond his historic status as a sonneteer, Smith has spent over thirty years working as a highly successful entrepreneur and creator in the entertainment industry. His artistic resume spans several disciplines:
