On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, Seven Dials Playhouse’s captivating Spring 2026 season, Extraordinary Stories, unleashes a bold mix of sharp comedies, poignant solo performances, sci-fi-tinged love stories, musical tributes to pop divas, comedy-horror thrills, and monthly improv showcases.
Seven Dials Playhouse
Seven Dials Playhouse, a vibrant creative hub in London’s West End near Covent Garden, has announced its Extraordinary Stories spring season, running from 3 February to 29 March 2026. This curated programme brings together a diverse lineup of theatre across the venue’s two spaces—The House (main auditorium) and The Pen (studio)—focusing on artists who explore the remarkable, complex, and often surprising narratives that define human experience. From new writing and solo performances to musical comedy and darkly comic horror, the season celebrates bold storytelling that delves into personal journeys, hidden truths, and the extraordinary woven into everyday life.
This announcement reinforces Seven Dials Playhouse’s dedication to artist-led programming, providing space for innovative work to develop and thrive while championing distinctive voices in contemporary theatre.

A Season of Bold Narratives in The House
The House hosts three compelling longer-run productions (with a fourth still to be announced), each offering a unique lens on modern life.
Brainsluts (3–13 February) kicks off the season with sharp comedy from Charlie Hartill Award finalist Dan Bishop. Set over five Sundays, the play follows five strangers participating in a clinical drug trial—slangily dubbed “brainsluts.” As the trial progresses, oversharing, secrets, and the absurd pressures of their lives create comic chaos. Praised as “clever, fast and funny” by Beyond The Joke and “immensely fruitful… smart writing” by Chortle, this follows a sold-out, critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe run.

Next, The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me (17 February–1 March) revives David Drake’s landmark 1994 solo play in a fresh staging by Hive North (the team behind Jock Night). Starring Gabriel Clark (known for Hollyoaks, Jock Night, and Tip Toe) and directed by Offie-nominated Adam Zane, the piece delivers a funny, furious, and tender exploration of self-discovery, desire, loss, and activism amid the 1980s AIDS crisis. Inspired by activist Larry Kramer, it features a kaleidoscope of characters and vignettes capturing the era’s urgency and passion.

Closing in The House is The Murmuration of Starlings (3–14 March), a sci-fi-infused love story set within the fragmented mind of someone living with dementia. Blurring reality with myth and memory, the play traces a looping journey that begins just 150 yards from home, following The Man, The Woman, The Boy, and The Girl through shifting timelines, lurking dangers, and moments of solace. It poignantly examines devotion and the lengths one goes to protect a loved one as reality unravels.

Comedic Voices Shine in The Pen
The Pen features shorter, punchy runs from emerging comedic talents.
Olivia McLeod – Work in Progress (5 February) sees the self-identified genius seeking gleeful vengeance on those who’ve overlooked her, directed by multi-award-winning comedian Lou Wall.

Hudson Hughes: At Your Service (6 February) blends comedy-horror with a TV celebrity bishop presiding over a rural funeral for a rumored witch. Expect a full coffin on stage, electronic props, video trickery, and Hudson Hughes’ signature razor-sharp scares.

A Stan Is Born (10–12 February), from Alexis Sakellaris, is a musical comedy celebrating pop divas and queer fandom. Drawing from the performer’s move from New York to rural Germany at age eight, it pays heartfelt tribute to icons like Céline, Whitney, Mariah, Beyoncé, and Aretha, alongside real-life women who offered salvation. Fresh from a sold-out summer run, it earned 4 stars from The Stage and a Best New Show nomination at Brighton Fringe.

Monthly Improv with Peekaboo
Complementing the season is Peekaboo, a monthly improv showcase presented by leapday and hosted by acclaimed comedian and leapday founder David Elms. Running on 30 January, 27 February, 27 March, and 24 April (7.45pm in The Pen), it features London’s top improvisers—established and rising—for lively, playful nights at just £10.
