Writer Lillian Tao has a professional background in science and health, and recently began working in the public health sector where she is able to contribute to improving healthcare for women, which is something close to her heart.
Lillian has always loved reading and writing, and spends most weekends with her head in a book, so the opportunity to share her own book, Trying Hard To Be Red, with the world is a very exciting first step in a new journey for her. She hopes that Trying Hard To Be Red will make you feel something, preferably something unexpected.

Trying Hard To Be Red
New poetry collection, Trying Hard to Be Red by Lillian Tao, features work written from a daughter’s perspective – even though they aren’t written to a mother, with a general theme of someone trying very hard to become all the things the colour red embodies.
Lillian explained that her writing style allows the lines of poetry to finish when the breath of the individual does as she explores different emotions throughout the book, with poems that can be read as chapters, interspersed with slightly longer pieces of writing that directly address the thoughts of the subject.
Team Siren Stories and Lillian Tao are excited to announce that Trying Hard To Be Red will be released in time for Christmas, with a date in early December to be announced, and pre-orders to be made available.
