On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, after selling out 30,000 tickets in hours for their first UK & Ireland shows in a decade, Super Furry Animals have just announced a huge open-air Bristol Sounds headline show on 24 June 2026 with Gwenno and Getdown Services.
Super Furry Animals
Welsh psych-pop legends Super Furry Animals have capped a whirlwind return to live action by announcing their first festival headline appearance in a decade: a slot at Bristol Sounds on Wednesday 24 June 2026.

The outdoor harbourside show – the band’s first Bristol performance since a packed O2 Academy date in December 2016 – comes exactly one month after their nine-date Supacabra 2026 Tour of Britain and Ireland sold out 30,000 tickets within hours of going on sale.
Bristol Sounds will be the tenth and, for now, final confirmed date of the reunion, bringing Gruff Rhys, Huw Bunford, Cian Ciaran, Dafydd Ieuan and Guto Pryce back together on stage for the first time since 2016.
Support comes from two acts with strong regional ties.
Joining the Furries on the Bristol Harbourside stage will be Bristol’s own disco-rock rabble-rousers Getdown Services and Cornish-Welsh art-pop trailblazer Gwenno.
Getdown Services – the riotous duo of Josh Law and Ben Sadler – have become one of the South West’s hottest live draws off the back of their 2023 debut album Crisps and this month’s Your Medal’s In The Post EP. Already confirmed as support for every Supacabra date except the two London Brixton shows, their appearance in their home city feels particularly fitting.
Gwenno, whose 2022 album Tresor was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, brings her dreamy, multilingual songcraft fresh from the release of this year’s reflective Utopia LP on Heavenly Recordings.

Love Kraft 20th anniversary reissue out now
Alongside the live return, the band recently reissued their 2005 album Love Kraft in a lavish 20th anniversary edition via their Cardiff label Strangetown Records. Remastered by Donal Whelan at Hafod Mastering and featuring new artwork from long-term collaborators Pete Fowler and Mark James, the expanded 2CD and digital versions include 23 rarities.
One previously lost track, “Rock N Roll Flu” – described by drummer Dafydd Ieuan as “a song about one of the very worst hangovers I have ever had” – has already picked up unexpected radio play across BBC 6 Music, Radio X and Absolute Radio. Physical copies are now flagged as low stock.
For a band that spent the last decade on an extended hiatus, 2026 is shaping up to be the year the Super Furries finally give the people what they’ve been waiting ten long years for.
