The outdoor harbourside show – the band’s first Bristol performance since a packed O2 Academy date in December 2016 – comes exactly one month after their nine-date Supacabra 2026 Tour of Britain and Ireland sold out 30,000 tickets within hours of going on sale.
Bristol Sounds will be the tenth and, for now, final confirmed date of the reunion, bringing Gruff Rhys, Huw Bunford, Cian Ciaran, Dafydd Ieuan and Guto Pryce back together on stage for the first time since 2016.
Support comes from two acts with strong regional ties.
Joining the Furries on the Bristol Harbourside stage will be Bristol’s own disco-rock rabble-rousers Getdown Services and Cornish-Welsh art-pop trailblazer Gwenno.
Getdown Services – the riotous duo of Josh Law and Ben Sadler – have become one of the South West’s hottest live draws off the back of their 2023 debut album Crisps and this month’s Your Medal’s In The Post EP. Already confirmed as support for every Supacabra date except the two London Brixton shows, their appearance in their home city feels particularly fitting.
Gwenno, whose 2022 album Tresor was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, brings her dreamy, multilingual songcraft fresh from the release of this year’s reflective Utopia LP on Heavenly Recordings.

The Maxim Gun, the world’s first true machine gun, deployed in colonial campaigns in Africa and later responsible for devastating casualties on the Western Front – a design still encountered on modern battlefields, including Ukraine.
The Lee-Enfield Rifle, the standard British service rifle through both World Wars and a trusted companion carried by generations of soldiers and their families.
The Brown Bess flintlock musket, the 18th- and 19th-century weapon that armed British redcoats at Waterloo and was also wielded by American rebels during the War of Independence.
Rather than focusing on technical specifications or battlefield tactics, the show examines the lives of ordinary people for whom these firearms became part of everyday existence – from conscripted soldiers to civilians caught in the crossfire of history.

The audiences there were fantastic as usual and that last night was very moving, knowing that I wouldn’t be seeing my U.K. friends anymore.
It was odd flying home because I wasn’t tired, my voice had held up for the entire run and each show was more exciting than the last. I wasn’t even out of breath at the end of each show.
But I guess “leave ‘em wanting more” was a good rule to follow. After all, I’m 100 years old and any day now I’m probably going to lose my hair, gain a big pot belly and need a cane to dance around to “Copacabana”.
But, as of now I can still run around the stage, I can still hit the high F Natural at the end of “Even Now” and I still look fabulous!
But I said goodbye and I meant it.
Sort of.
There was just one thing. I don’t wanna say goodbye!
So we’re coming back.
We’re going to have a great, big Barry Manilow concert!

Christmas is one of my favourite times of year as an organist! It’s the time of year where most people get to hear the organ be played, and where no-one can resist joining in with a little bit of carol singing. My Christmas tour is going to capture some of that magic; I’ll be playing some of my favourite Christmas organ music, soundtracks from some of the iconic films that I always watch at this time of year, and there will be a chance for a little bit of festivecarol singing too! I can’t wait to see you there – and, as always – sparkles are compulsory 🙂
