On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment eBook magazine UK“, That Van Helsing Girl introduces Jane Van Helsing, a glamorous, fiercely independent vampire navigating war-torn Europe, redefining the genre with a seductive, feminist twist.

That Van Helsing Girl

In the shadowy realm of vampire fiction, a new star rises: Jane Van Helsing, the intoxicating protagonist of That Van Helsing Girl by Jacob Van Helsing. Glamorous, headstrong, and unapologetically feminine, Jane redefines the vampire myth with a fierce blend of sensuality, defiance, and independence. Set against the blood-soaked backdrop of Europeβs world wars, this novel weaves historical fact with supernatural fantasy, delivering a bold, feminist reimagining of a genre that has captivated readers for centuries.

Jane Van Helsing is no ordinary vampire. With her lilac eyes and silver-white hair, she commands attention as a descendant of both vampires and their huntersβa dual heritage that makes her both predator and prey. Raised in a world where vampirism is a hereditary legacy concealed within Europeβs aristocracy, Jane navigates a treacherous landscape of political espionage, gothic intrigue, and bloodlust. Guided by her enigmatic aunt, Heleen Van Scheltinga, Jane learns the ways of vampires and men, but her Van Helsing lineage compels her to question who is friend and who is foe in a war-torn continent.
What sets That Van Helsing Girl apart is its fearless protagonist. Drawing inspiration from silver-screen sirens like Mae West and Jean Harlow, as well as the rebellious archetype of Lilith, Jane oozes sensual power and independence. She is a vampire who embraces her nature with pride, wielding her femininity as both weapon and shield. Unlike the brooding Edward Cullen, whose romantic melancholy once dominated vampire fiction, Jane is a vibrant, modern iconβbold, seductive, and unafraid to claim her place in a world that seeks to control her.
Jacob Van Helsing masterfully blends gothic atmosphere with historical depth, placing vampires at the heart of Europeβs bloodiest conflicts. The novel, a stand-alone follow-up to The Van Helsing Heritage, immerses readers in an alternative reality where creatures of fantasy hide in plain sight, their intentions as murky as the battlefields of World War II. The authorβs literary flair and feminist lens elevate the story, making it both a thrilling supernatural tale and a commentary on power, identity, and survival.
That Van Helsing Girl is a triumph of originality and empowerment, leaving readers enthralled by Janeβs journey and wondering if she might just claim the vampire literary crown. For those craving a fresh, intelligent, and intoxicating addition to vampire fiction, Jane Van Helsing is an icon worth sinking your teeth into.

Jacob Van Helsing
A science graduate, I was awarded a doctorate in genetic pharmacology and spent my career in medical and pharmaceutical research, primarily in cardiovascular disease, discovering an important drug for the treatment of high blood pressure and angina, which is prescribed world-wide.
Combining my practical knowledge of matters heart and blood related with my love of Victorian Gothic novels, led, unsurprisingly, to my speculating on the scientific credibility of literary vampires.
The result was the creation of my own novels, in which historical gothic fantasy meets science – and emerges unspoilt.
Now retired from practical research, I live in rural Essex with my wife and our cute but wilful feline, Molly, and when not writing, I make βgothicβ curiosities in my shed, which I refer to as Objet Dβark and can be viewed on my Instagram account – lagalleriegothique.
