On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, The Dream Machine ignite anticipation for their ambitious third album Fort Perch Rock, with the infectious, Ramones-infused new wave rocker Flowers On The Razor Wire.
The Wirral-based five-piece band The Dream Machine has revealed details of their upcoming third studio album, Fort Perch Rock, set for release on February 27, 2026, via Run On Records. The announcement arrives alongside the new single “Flowers On The Razor Wire,” a vibrant new wave rock track blending radio-friendly melodies with influences spanning decades and genres.

A Bold New Chapter
Building on their previous releases, including the 2023 debut Thank God! It’s The Dream Machine and 2024’s Small Time Monsters, Fort Perch Rock represents the band’s most ambitious project to date. The 12-track album was self-produced and recorded in studios across the Wirral and Liverpool. It will be available in various formats, such as digital, CD, and special colored vinyl editions. A limited band-store exclusive features a butterfly-effect vinyl variant bundled with a glow-in-the-dark 7-inch EP of covers honoring the Motown group The Shirelles.
The album follows the recent release of its title track, an energetic punk-psych number drawing from rapid, organ-driven influences. “Flowers On The Razor Wire” shifts gears with infectious drivetime melodies, prominent keys, and a soaring chorus reminiscent of classic new wave acts.
Flowers On The Razor Wire
The song originated from a second-hand comic book discovered in an antique shop, which sparked collaborative ideas among the band members. It soon became clear the comic was an erotic graphic novel. Written partly in Berlin—where the band attempted a return visit to a Ramones museum only to find it closed—the track channels Ramones energy alongside elements from The Strokes, Television, and The Walkmen. It evokes a New York-via-Berlin radio rock vibe, blending nostalgic references with contemporary drive.

Fort Perch Rock
The album’s name pays homage to Fort Perch Rock, a historic sea-facing fort at the confluence of the Irish Sea and River Mersey in the band’s hometown of New Brighton. This landmark symbolizes coastal life in the area—evoking salty air, faded arcades, and everyday seaside memories—standing as a central totem in the band’s evolving sound.
While echoes of classic influences permeate their catalog, the band draws from a wide range of modern artists, including Dr. Dre, Mac DeMarco, Blossoms, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
