On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, The Sling Sisters’ soul-stirring debut album What I Hope to Find delivers a captivating blend of blues, Americana, and country through exquisite three-part harmonies, heartfelt storytelling, and gritty grooves.
What I hope To Find
The Sling Sisters have announced their highly anticipated debut album, What I Hope to Find, set for release on January 31, 2026. This soulful Blues-Americana-Country project from the trio based in Cambridge and Toronto, Ontario, showcases a powerful blend of grit, groove, and heartfelt storytelling, deeply rooted in folk and country traditions.

The Trio’s Unique Harmony
The group features award-winning vocalist and producer Elana Harte leading the charge, complemented by the soulful clarity of Suzie B. and the grounded, gravelly texture of Kelly Mulholland. Their three voices create a rare and seamless fit, delivering harmonies that feel both intimate and expansive. The music emphasizes honest performances and real instruments, crafting an immersive sound that draws listeners in like a close conversation.
Lead Single Captures Nashville Swagger
The album’s journey kicks off with the lead single “Chasing Whiskey With A Kiss,” now available along with a brand-new music video. This playful anthem celebrates living in the moment and stands out for its recording at East Iris Studios in Nashville. It features an all-star lineup of session musicians, including legendary contributions on keys and electric guitar. While Elana Harte handled production and mixing for most of the album, this track embraces a distinct Nashville energy and swagger.
A Personal Labor of Love
The creation of What I Hope to Find reflects a deep commitment to songcraft, where the music takes precedence through careful attention to nuance and communal energy. The album feels like an extension of family, built on authentic performances and a focus on emotional connection. The title track embodies the project’s spirit, evoking themes of self-discovery and perseverance through imagery of long drives and searching for belonging.
An Organic Origin Story
The band’s formation unfolded naturally. Elana Harte and Suzie B. crossed paths in Montreal’s music scene during their teenage years but did not connect until much later. The trio truly came together during an impromptu gig in Kitchener, when a duo partner fell ill, Suzie stepped in, and Kelly joined from the audience. In that moment, their signature sound emerged instantly, fueled by a shared lifelong passion for music—from childhood piano sessions to the joy of discovering perfect vocal harmony.

Global Collaborations and Thoughtful Production
Production on the album spans continents, with contributions from musicians in New York, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Ukraine. Elana Harte applied meticulous old-school mixing techniques, emphasizing placement and stereo imaging to build layered, dynamic arrangements. The record stays true to roots traditions while incorporating unconventional elements like atmospheric sounds, sparse electric guitar, and prominent string work. This approach gives every instrument its own voice within the ensemble. Mastering was handled by Joao Carvalho, with additional standout performances from international talents including cellist Ben Trigg and drummer Chris Barber.
Embracing Live Connection
To celebrate the release, The Sling Sisters have planned a series of live performances at venues that prioritize accessibility and community. These shows highlight the visceral power of their three-part harmonies in a live setting, inviting audiences into an inclusive, family-like experience centered on genuine musical connection.
With What I Hope to Find, the trio delivers a bold, honest statement that values meaningful lyrics and craftsmanship over fleeting trends. Through every note and arrangement, Elana, Suzie, and Kelly create a welcoming space for listeners seeking deeper emotional resonance, proving the enduring strength of authentic storytelling and harmony.
