On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, Young Martyrs have released their stunning new single ‘Is There Anybody Out There’, a deeply emotional Americana-tinged ballad and the lead track from their highly anticipated third album Might Just Be Enough.
Bath-based alt-Americana four-piece Young Martyrs have released their powerful new single ‘Is There Anybody Out There’ on April 3rd, 2026. The track serves as the lead single from their highly anticipated third studio album Might Just Be Enough, set to arrive in Summer 2026.

A Band on the Rise
Formed in 2020, Young Martyrs made an immediate impact with their self-titled debut album and a headline tour that sold out venues across the UK. This early success led to support slots with artists including Badly Drawn Boy, The Hoosiers, and McFly, alongside festival appearances at Glastonbury and Rock Oyster. Their 2023 second album Time Is Not On Our Side expanded their fanbase internationally, including live dates in New York City.
The new single was recorded as a three-piece, with guitarist Rich Beeby also covering bass duties, before the lineup was completed with the addition of bassist Phil Smith. The band now features Tom Corneill on lead vocals and guitar, Rich Beeby on guitar and vocals, Lee Cole on drums, percussion and vocals, and Phil Smith on bass.
Recording took place at Real World Studios in Bath and Indefra Studios in Frome, with the band self-producing alongside co-producer Sebastian Brice and engineer Ben Koch. The track was mastered by Christian Wright (known for his work with Ed Sheeran, Franz Ferdinand, Blur, and Laura Marling) at London’s Abbey Road Studios.

Lyrical Depth and Sonic Atmosphere
‘Is There Anybody Out There’ showcases Young Martyrs’ ability to deliver an emotionally powerful and lyrically rich experience within the gentle framework of a well-crafted Americana-tinged ballad. The song blends meditative pulsing delay effects, melancholy guitar chords, and sighing melodies with Tom Corneill’s softly despairing vocals to evoke the feeling of being anchored to the past.
The lyrics explore deeply relatable themes: desperately seeking connection and answers, the sense of drifting as time passes relentlessly, the pain of loss, and the bittersweet realisation of growing up—understanding too late the importance of holding onto good moments before they slip away.
