Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and filmmaker Zolita has officially launched a striking new artistic chapter with the release of her latest single and music video, “Hell’s Belles.” Known for blending high-concept visual storytelling with sharp pop sensibilities, the artist’s new era introduces a fresh blend of country-inspired textures and self-aware lyricism.

A Sapphic Take on Country Tropes

Co-written with artist Gatlin, “Hell’s Belles” serves as the foundational blueprint for Zolita’s upcoming project. The track acts as a queer reimagining of traditional bro-country anthems, drawing inspiration from southern aesthetics while maintaining the signature pop edge that fans have come to expect. True to form, the accompanying music video for “Hell’s Belles” is a cinematic production that functions as a campy, sexy thriller. The storyline follows a detective who goes undercover at a girls’ reform camp—which has transformed into a lesbian cult—only to become romantically entangled with the group’s charismatic leader.

The visual project features a star-studded cast of LGBTQ+ creators and frequent collaborators:

• Tatiana Ringsby stars alongside Zolita as the cult leader, ‘Hell’.
• Kyra Green, Georgia Bridgers, Becky Missal, Lauren Payton, Alyssa Eels, and Sierra Fujita round out the cast as cult members.

The narrative dives headfirst into themes of power, seduction, sisterhood, and the hypnotic nature of infatuation. According to the artist, the concept was heavily inspired by her own real-life experiences spending six years inside a kundalini yoga cult, using humor, camp fantasy, and pop spectacle as a vehicle for processing the past. To expand on the release, Zolita is set to drop extended dialogue scenes and a mockumentary-style mini-series exploring the lore of the video’s universe.

Over the past ten years, Zolita has cemented her status as a distinct independent voice in pop music by maintaining total creative control over her output. Raised between both coasts, she cultivated an early interest in bluegrass guitar alongside a passion for filmmaking. While studying at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she merged these two passions, treating her music as a natural extension of visual narratives.

Her career has been defined by a commitment to centering queer relationships authentically, portraying them without compromise as complex, messy, and fully human. From early projects like Immaculate Conception, Sappho, and Evil Angel to her 2024 diaristic album Queen of Hearts, her work has earned critical acclaim from major tastemakers including Rolling Stone, PAPER, V Magazine, and DAZED.

Alongside her rising streaming numbers and dedicated online community, Zolita has built a powerful touring footprint.
