The Bird Trilogy: A Feathered Frenzy (12–20 December 2025)

From Friday, 12th December to Saturday, 20th December 2025, Lyons will present The Bird Trilogy at Soho Theatre, performing one of her three bird-themed shows—Swan, Chiffchaff, or Raven—each night. This trilogy, nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award, is a masterclass in genre-bending comedy.

Each show tackles a distinct world: Swan dives into classical ballet, Chiffchaff explores economics, and Raven delves into gothic horror. Reimagined through Lyons’ signature style of clowning, mime, and surreal theatre, these performances are a chaotic, hilarious, and visually stunning journey.

Horses: A Galloping Good Time (7–10 January 2026)

Following The Bird Trilogy, Lyons returns to Soho Theatre’s Main Theatre from Wednesday, 7th January to Saturday, 10th January 2026, with her multi-award-winning show Horses. Fresh off its Sky Arts Comedy Award win in 2025, Horses is a groundbreaking performance described as the first comedy show performed entirely by a horse, embodied by Lyons’ alter-ego, Treacle.

This whimsical hour celebrates the inner child, the joy of play, and the power of imagination. Audiences are invited to bring their most enthusiastic, horse-loving energy to this adventurous exploration of life’s playful side, seen through equine eyes.

A Comedy Powerhouse

Elf Lyons is no stranger to accolades. In 2024 alone, she clinched the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Show, Comedians’ Choice Award, Spirit of the Fringe Award, Adelaide Fringe Best Comedy, and Reykjavik Fringe Best Show. Her 2025 Adelaide Fringe Pick of the Week and Sky Arts Comedy Award further cement her status as a comedy trailblazer. Since her 2017 Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination, Lyons has been celebrated for her originality, earning praise for her innovative takes on classical ballet, economic musicals, immersive horror, and even surrealist lectures at venues like the Barbican.

Beyond the stage, Lyons is a prolific writer and broadcaster. Her TV and radio credits include Comedians Giving Lectures (Dave), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2), and The Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC). She’s a three-time cover star of The Sunday Times Culture and has penned articles for The Guardian, The Times, The Telegraph, and The Observer Magazine, where her piece “In Praise of Polyamory” made waves. Lyons also wrote and starred in her own BBC Three short, Top Ten Things I Have Brought Whilst Drunk.
