The Ghosts Of Nothing

The people of the town of Nothing believe that it is haunted, but sixteen-year-old Nelly Morighan is skeptical, and for good reason. Local people blame her “cursed” family for all their ghostly troubles and do their most to make Nelly’s daily life a living hell.
One night, Nelly sees an odd light sneaking through the farm’s abandoned house, so she decides to investigate and finds… fairies!
After this discovery, Nelly’s grandma is catatonic, and the otherworldy trespassers are offering a cure, but at a terrible price. It just so happens, Nelly is a rare find for the fae. And the shocking explanation is hidden in a past that only the dead can remember.
With clear love and knowledge of traditional Irish folklore and traditions, Cecily Walters delivers a plot that is big on suspense, tension and surprise, with her plausible and relatable protagonist, Nelly, at the centre.
The Ghosts of Nothing is the first instalment of a planned series and is a perfect read in the run-up to Halloween, or a great gift idea for readers of fantasy fiction.

Cecily Walters wrote her first book when she was twelve, an 88 page novella about a girl who could fly like Peter Pan, and has loved fantasy and storytelling ever since.
An award winning screenwriter, Cecily was behind the short film, The Monster Within directed by Ghislain Ouellet, and the head writer of the game Away: The Survival Series.
