The ‘Physique’ installation set to showcase at the Steamroom is confirmed as LFW City Wide Celebration partner.
How About Installation

As London prepares for LFW 2022, the creative experiential laboratory ‘How About’ announces the launch of a new and thought-provoking multimedia installation at the Steam Room, East London. The experimental installation titled ‘Physique’ launches in sync with LFW on 18 February and runs until the 22 February.
The press preview will take place on 17 February (9am – 5pm). ‘Physique’ is presented in two distinctly separate, but co-dependent components, comprising of an intriguing multi-layered sculpture, using a variety of textures, and coupled with an engaging digital video art gallery; both conveying the creators’ visionary window into the subconscious world of fashion and body today.
It features artists that depict digital fashion and body movements in art such as XIAOLING, Voltaine, Lulu Wang, along with many others.
Yarda Krampol and Urte Janus

Yarda Krampol, co-founder of How About explains: “In our latest experiment during LFW 2022, we will be exploring the theme of the body and the framework within which fashion is built. The sculpture portrays how the body dictates the shape and the function of clothing, and the corresponding digital window display is intended as an intervention to public space exposing the relationship between the media and reality.”
He adds “Our hope is to explore the physicality of the body, and then the absence of it when it comes to digital fashion.”
How About is the conception and creation of partners Yarda Krampol and Urte Janus, which combines their individual, but complementary, multidisciplinary skills, including multisensory experience design, immersive experiences, set design and build, creative consultancy and art direction. ‘Physique’ creators have partnered with Hackney’s iconic ‘Steam Room’, the fashion industry’s go-to garment cleaning and fabric testing aficionados, to host this new installation, whose own clients include Roksanda, Casablanca, Matches, Self Portrait, Simone Rocha. It is also co-produced with ToAndPartners, who represent a wide range of diverse contemporary and digital artists – including How About. Finally, and just confirmed as LFW City Wide Celebration partner.
Urte Janus co-founder of How About sums ‘Physique’ up, “This installation is intentionally timed for LFW and is ultimately inspired by the croquis. It is set to explore the balance between the figure and the garment, and philosophy and the matter. The question of whether the body as a divine machine surpasses the artificial life diverts the attention from the sculpture itself to the video art display, which overlooks a busy East London Street during LFW.”

The Steam Room
44 years ago, Papa Chung moved to England in 1972 and set up home in Haggerston with baby Tony in 1976. He opened a Chinese Takeaway at 230 Kingsland Road. After his father’s retirement, Tony took over this shop space and opened a dry cleaning store called “THE STEAM ROOM“. Every morning since 2004, he worked away under the mechanical heat and sounds, his concentration replaced by the sweats on his forehead. He could remember the face of every garment’s owner, just like how he’s never forgotten his roots.
‘Physique’ by ‘How About’ at The Steam Room, Kingsland Road, London, 18 – 22 February 2022.
‘Physique’ Installation:

Fortunately, the aforementioned maneuvers present promise in maintaining testicular well being
throughout treatment while facilitating the successful restoration of fertility when trying for pregnancy.
CC and HCG each play pivotal roles in serving to to revive spermatogenesis in these men. Further randomized, potential research are essential to elucidate the best treatment programs each throughout and
after TTh. In the meantime, males considering TTh
who’re interested in preserving fertility should be handled by consultants acquainted with the intricacies of these medical regimens.
The pursuit of enhanced bodily performance and
muscle mass by way of anabolic steroids can have unintended consequences on sperm
production and quality. These artificial variations of testosterone can considerably disrupt the
body’s natural hormonal balance, leading to a lower within the
manufacturing and high quality of sperm, that
are crucial for male fertility.
The systematic doping program of the previous German Democratic Republic (GDR) supplied proof of anabolic steroid and amphetamine use in feminine athletes (Karila, Kerlan, Christin-Maitre, 2024).
Their dominance on the 1976 Montreal Olympics, successful 11 of thirteen swimming occasions, raised suspicions because of atypical physical traits like
deep voices and broad shoulders, typical indicators of steroid-induced masculinization. This success led to elevated steroid use among athletes in different countries, including the united states
and Japan (Franke and Berendonk, 1997). The Worldwide Olympic Committee (IOC) banned AAS in 1975 (Hartgens and Kuipers, 2004).
However, the likelihood that genetic harm or mutations attributable to anabolic steroids might be passed from father
to child through sperm is a concern that has been raised by scientists and healthcare professionals.
Past affecting the quantity and motility of sperm, anabolic steroids can also result in morphological abnormalities.
These abnormalities refer to changes in the size and shape of sperm, which may impact their ability to fertilize an egg.
This article attempts to look at the scientific findings surrounding these issues, shedding mild on the dark facet of anabolic steroid use.
By Way Of a careful examination of present analysis, we
goal to offer a comprehensive overview of how these powerful medicine can alter the course of male reproductive well being and
the well-being of future generations.
During the follicular section, these concentrations gradually improve,
culminating in a peak in testosterone and an increase
in androstenedione within the preovulatory period.
In the late luteal section, androstenedione concentrations
continue to extend, but testosterone ranges stay stable (Judd and Yen,
1973, Sinha-Hikim et al., 1998). Direct assays for testosterone measurement in ladies are highly uncertain, in contrast to liquid or
gas chromatography and mass spectrometry, which reveal
high precision and reproducibility (Bachmann et al., 2002,
Davis et al., 2019). Moreover, steroid use can disrupt the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis,
a key system regulating fertility.
In girls, the approach might embrace anti-androgens, which counteract the results of increased testosterone levels.
Hormonal therapies can even regulate menstrual cycles, managing
feminine infertility and different physiological modifications.
SERMs negate the unfavorable feedback on the pituitary exerted by estrogens, and aromatase inhibitors
impede the formation of these estrogens.
Prohormones have minimal hormone exercise themselves, but
they’re transformed by the body’s metabolic processes into energetic
androgens. Curiosity in prohormones elevated following the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 1990, which made
anabolic steroids managed substances within the United States.
Through the utilization of prohormones corresponding
to androstenedione, 4-androstenediol, 1-androstenediol, and
19-norandrostenedione, bodybuilders and athletes discovered a
means to make use of androgenic compounds legally. In an attempt to shut this loophole, the Anabolic
Steroid Act of 2004 included prohormones on the
list of illegal anabolic steroids. Hypogonadism (low testosterone,
or “low T”) is a common problem that’s being increasingly recognized by
the medical community, primarily because of an elevated consciousness
of the problem. Some studies have shown that as many as 20 % of men being handled for fertility issues have hormone
problems similar to low testosterone.
It has been generally acknowledged that men’s testosterone ranges drop as they age and tons of men will need assistance.
Nevertheless some use of testosterone substitute may
cross the road of true medical necessity. It is predicated on the strategic consumption of anabolic steroids, in order that the
athlete can get the maximum efficiency, however decreasing the side effects and financial value of all anabolic to make use of.
It is necessary to note that each one unwanted facet effects of anabolic steroids could be each reversible and irreversible.
The basic impact on the male reproductive system is that of central suppression of
gonadotropins. Downstream sequelae embody decreased endogenous testosterone
production, testicular atrophy, and impaired spermatogenesis.
Concerning the potential for testicular dysfunction, the risk that
AAS use poses to future fertility and correct Sertoli and Leydig cell operate can’t be overstated.
Multiple studies have documented long-term hypogonadism stemming from prior AAS use [23,34].
One survey particularly demonstrated that the number
one regret amongst prior AAS customers was not understanding the potential ramifications
that their AAS use might have on future fertility [35].
Many AAS users try and mitigate this danger by organizing their AAS utilization into ‘cycles’ with dedicated intervals of ‘post-cycle therapy’
that make the most of drugs like CC to stimulate native testicular perform.
Although testicular failure from prior AAS use has been proven to be treatable in the vast majority of instances, success just isn’t guaranteed
and men desiring future fertility must be warned accordingly [23,34,36].
Synthesis of results – AAS customers had reduced ranges of FSH and LH than the naïve population. One 12
months after stopping AAS, the customers and naïve inhabitants had insignificant differences in FSH
and LH values. The whole testosterone (TT) levels have been comparable
in customers and naïve populations at baseline, three months and 6 months
after stopping, but at 1 yr, TT values have been lower in AAS users.
Sperm concentration in AAS users and naïve population was similar, but sperm motility was decrease in AAS customers.
The erectile function improved with AAS use, but on withdrawal,
there was decreased libido and erectile dysfunction.
However, the exact time required for sperm parameters
to return to regular levels isn’t well-established and should range
among individuals. Notably, renal histopathological changes were more pronounced six weeks after discontinuing androgens,
indicating that issues could persist even after the use is discontinued (Kahal and Allem, 2018).
The renal system is crucial for toxin excretion, fluid and electrolyte steadiness,
blood pressure regulation, Hormone treatment assessment secretion, and urine production (Hartgens and Kuipers, 2004).
Extended androgen administration can result in significant morphofunctional modifications and nephrotoxicity (D’Errico et al., 2011, Filho et al., 2020).
Morphologically, these modifications predominantly affect the glomeruli, resulting in mesangial matrix accumulation, podocyte attenuation, and structural diversifications (Brasil et al., 2015, D’Errico et al., 2011, Kahal and Allem, 2018,
Riezzo et al., 2014). As a end result, serum creatinine levels could rise, and conditions corresponding to focal segmental glomerulosclerosis
(FSGS), tubular atrophy, interstitial fibrosis, and persistent kidney illness (CKD) may develop (Davani-Davari et al., 2019, Luciano et al.,
2014). This susceptibility seems to correlate with the dosage and potency of synthetic compounds (Socas et al.,
2005).
