IZAKAYA Asian Restaurant & Bar first introduced their Japanese concept 10 years ago to Amsterdam, located in the bustling Pijp area. The restaurant turned out to be the originator of high-end Japanese cuisine with a South American twist, defining new standards for the Dutch hospitality industry.

The traditional ‘Izakaya’ is best translated as ‘Japanese pub’, a cornerstone of the Japanese food culture. IZAKAYA gives this authentic principle a high-end gastronomic twist. Time-honored techniques blend together with innovative signatures, with spectacular dishes as the end result. Dishes are served on small plates that are made for sharing with guests, inviting you for conversation about new textures and flavours
IZAKAYA Menu
The menu features fresh sushi, sashimi and a variety of exquisite meat and fish, elevating the traditional Japanese dining experience to a higher level; authentic elements are given a contemporary twist combined with creative techniques including a traditional Robata grill positioned in the heart of the restaurant where guests can watch the chef inimitably create their masterpieces.
Along with redefining Asian culinary classics, IZAKAYA gives a cutting-edge twist to the bar with a giant wine fridge as the main feature of the central bar, offering a vast international fine wine library. Additionally, there is an array of house-infused tonics with the Japanese Shochu as the base. The Shochu is distilled from barley, buckwheat and sweet potato.
