On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment eBook magazine UK“, Paperwhite’s dreamy single By Your Side gets a cinematic remix by Adam Weiss, heralding their upcoming EP with lush synth-pop and evocative storytelling.

By Your Side

New York-based sibling duo Paperwhite, comprised of singer/songwriter Katie Marshall and producer/songwriter Ben Marshall, continue their triumphant return with the Adam Weiss remix of their shimmering single “By Your Side.” Following the original track’s praise from EARMILK as “a catchy slice of their signature synth-pop,” this remix elevates the duo’s dreamy sound into a hypnotic, cinematic journey.

Brooklyn-based composer and producer Adam Weiss, known for his evocative blend of ambient, electronic, and classical influences, brings his distinctive touch to the track. With a portfolio that includes scoring films like McVeigh and Skin Can Breathe, composing for ad campaigns for Apple, IBM, Google, and Samsung, and contributing to CBS’s Emmy-nominated Pride campaign and This American Life, Weiss infuses “By Your Side” with atmospheric textures. The result is a transformative take that amplifies Paperwhite’s lush synth-pop into a spellbinding sonic experience.

Since their debut over a decade ago, Paperwhite have carved a niche in the indie pop scene, earning accolades from Billboard, Vice, and Buzzfeed, and securing coveted spots on Spotify editorial playlists. The duo’s early success saw them twice named Hype Machine’s Most Blogged Artist, and they’ve shared stages with acts like Oh Wonder, SOFI TUKKER, and Great Good Fine Ok. After a brief hiatus, Paperwhite returned in late 2024 with their single “Unfold,” signaling a bold new chapter.

The Adam Weiss remix arrives as a prelude to Paperwhite’s forthcoming EP, set for release this spring. The EP promises to blend their signature dreamy, synth-driven pop with natural textures and cinematic depth, exploring themes of self-discovery and emotive storytelling. With “By Your Side (Adam Weiss Remix)” as a tantalizing taste, Paperwhite are poised to captivate both longtime fans and new listeners, cementing their place as one of indie pop’s most enduring and innovative acts.
