On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment eBook magazine UK“, Tennis celebrates their legacy with the final release Neutral Poetry: First Recordings, Unreleased Demos 2009-2010 and a farewell North American headline tour.

A Nostalgic Farewell with Neutral Poetry

The acclaimed indie-pop duo Tennis, comprised of Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley, has released their final project, Neutral Poetry: First Recordings, Unreleased Demos 2009-2010. This poignant mini-LP revisits the earliest days of their musical journey, offering an eight-song collection that captures the raw, formative energy of their beginnings.
Featuring early versions of fan favorites like “Cape Dory,” “Marathon,” “South Carolina,” “Baltimore,” and “Pigeon,” alongside previously unreleased demos such as “Key Largo,” “April and It’s Still Snowing,” and “One Day This Will Be a Good Songgg,” the EP serves as a nostalgic bookend to their 15-year career, bringing their story full circle.

Closing a Chapter After Face Down In The Garden
Following the release of their final studio album, Face Down In The Garden, in April, Tennis announced an indefinite hiatus, marking the end of an era that spanned their 20s and 30s. The decision followed the release of their single “12 Blown Tires,” a track that distilled their journey as a band into a single, reflective moment.

Moore and Riley, who began as two dreamers from Denver hoping to play a few house shows, expressed gratitude for the joy, challenges, and fulfillment that Tennis brought them. Having achieved their artistic goals, they are now ready to explore new creative endeavors and embrace fresh chapters in their lives.
A Final Tour to Celebrate and Say Goodbye
To celebrate their legacy and connect with fans one last time, Tennis embarks on a North American headline tour starting tonight at Swan Dive in Las Vegas, NV. The tour, running through early September, features a stellar lineup of supporting acts, including Husbands, Billie Marten, Cults, Real Estate, and Hovvdy.
Along the way, the duo will make festival appearances at Kilby Block Party and Bumbershoot, before concluding their performances with a show at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on October 23. This tour, imbued with a sense of closure, offers fans a poignant opportunity to experience Tennis in their current form as Moore and Riley prepare to step into the next phase of their creative lives.
