To find out, Casino Hawks scoured over 4 million social media posts of the most famous film and TV locations in the UK, using this to determine which are the most popular.

James Bond Filming Locations

Casino Hawks found that Glen Coe in Scotland, known for Skyfall, is the most popular movie location to visit in the UK with 569,290 Instagram hashtags, and got more than double the hastags of Somerset House in London, which was also used in the James Bond franchise (James Bond: Golden Eye).

Glencoe featured in James Bond: Skyfall, the highest-grossing film in the James Bond franchise, and was chosen as the iconic location for Skyfall House, Bond’s childhood home. For super fans wishing to visit where Skyfall House is supposed to be, use the exact coordinates of 56°37′10.31″N 04°55′51.23″W.

Notting Hill Filming Locations

Ranking second is Portobello Road in London, with 346,616 hashtags on Instagram. The quirky street market was used during the opening scene of Notting Hill, where Hugh Grant’s character, William Thacker, is seen walking through Portobello Road market. Additionally, Will’s bookshop, The Notting Hill Travel Bookshop, was filmed at 142 Portobello Road, capturing the infamous moment William and Anna – played by Julia Roberts – meet.

The rom-com has 61% more Instagram hashtags than Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, (138,092) which is featured in Pride and Prejudice, the only other romance film to make it into the top 10.

Dracula Filming Location

Giant’s Causeway, Ireland, takes the third spot with 340,549 Instagram hashtags. Featured in Dracula Untold, it is the only horror film location to land a spot in the top 10, with Osea Island, Essex –  where some scenes in The Woman in Black were filmed – ranking 38th.

Those visiting Giant’s Causeway will find themselves standing on what was used as a fictional Transylvanian mountain, with very little CGI alteration, meaning fans can visualise key scenes in real life.

Pride And Prejudice Filming Locations

Renowned for being featured in the famous romance drama, Pride and Prejudice (2005), Chatsworth House in Derbyshire ranks tenth with 138,092 hashtags on Instagram. Alongside posing as Pemberley, Mr Darcy’s home, the historic stately home can also be spotted in the backdrop of historical drama, The Duchess, and TV show Peaky Blinders.
