On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, comedians Joe Wells and Abigoliah Schamaun deliver a hilarious, heartfelt and refreshingly un-self-helpy look at neurodivergent life in their new book Neurodivergent Moments: Sex, Sunscreen, Turtles and How (Not) to Pack a Suitcase.
Comedians Joe Wells and Abigoliah Schamaun are releasing a fresh, funny take on neurodivergence through storytelling and lived experience. Their new book, Neurodivergent Moments: Sex, Sunscreen, Turtles and How (Not) to Pack a Suitcase, arrives on 18 June 2026 and offers a warm, irreverent alternative to traditional self-help books on the topic.

A Podcast Turned Book Collection
Drawing from their popular podcast of the same name, the book brings together 24 autobiographical essays. These short, relatable pieces explore the realities of neurodivergent life across different areas, including school, work, relationships, travel, and the small daily challenges that arise when brains function differently.
Readers will find stories about booking the wrong train, forgetting to eat for long stretches, and other everyday mishaps that become both chaotic and hilarious through a neurodivergent lens. The title itself highlights those distinctive moments — whether difficult, brilliant, or simply absurd — that shape life with a differently wired brain.
At a time when discussions around adult neurodivergence, diagnosis, identity, and navigating work and relationships are gaining more visibility, this book stands out for its approach. Instead of offering instructions or fixes, it presents neurodivergence as a valid and often very funny way of experiencing the world.
The collection celebrates the humour, chaos, and shared experiences that come with neurodivergent brains, making it both a mirror and a comfort for many readers. It avoids clinical tones in favour of candid, personal storytelling that feels generous and deeply human.

Why This Book Matters
Neurodivergent Moments arrives as conversations about neurodivergence become more prominent in public life. By focusing on real stories rather than solutions, Wells and Schamaun offer something refreshing: validation through laughter and recognition. The book serves as both a celebration of neurodivergent experiences and a relatable explanation of how different brains navigate the world.
Whether you identify as neurodivergent, have loved ones who are, or simply enjoy honest and hilarious writing about the quirks of being human, this book delivers warmth, wit, and plenty of “same” moments. Mark 18 June 2026 in your calendar for a refreshingly funny addition to the neurodivergence conversation.
