On The Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, darkwave pioneers Lowsunday return with their exhilarating new single “You Are So Wired,” a post-punk anthem exploring the chaos of erratic personalities and the sweet relief of freedom.
Pittsburgh darkwave pioneers Lowsunday are back with their striking new single “You Are So Wired,” driven by shimmering guitars, soaring melodies, and restless post-punk energy. The track serves as a powerful centerpiece for their latest release, the Low Sunday Ghost Machine – Black EP, which is available now via Projekt Records. Accompanying the release is a music video produced by Jer Herring, capturing the intense roller-coaster experience of connecting with a chaotic, high-energy personality.

Formed originally in 1994 as Low Sunday Ghost Machine, the band established itself as a retro-futurist pioneer long before modern genre revivals took hold. Following a hiatus of nearly 25 years, original member Shane Sahene (vocals, guitar, synth, bass, drums) teamed up with Bobby Spell (bass, guitar, drums) to bring the project back to life. Their legacy was solidified through the 1996 debut album Low Sunday Ghost Machine and the 1999 masterpiece Elesgiem, both of which received expanded anniversary re-releases via Projekt Records over the past 18 months.

Connecting the White EP and the Black EP
The current era of the band began in late 2025 with the release of the White EP, which ranked second on Post-Punk.com’s Best EPs of 2025 and featured singles like “Love Language,” “Soft Capture,” and “Nevver.” While the White EP focused on light and texture, the brand new Black EP acts as its darker, more intense counterpart. This two-part return bridges three decades of musical legacy using feedback, drones, layered guitars, and tight rhythms.

Deconstructing You Are So Wired and the Black EP
According to Shane Sahene, the new single addresses manic experiences and the philosophical boundary between wakefulness and dreaming, inspired by the classic Chuang Tzu butterfly parable. The accompanying video uses rapid eye movements and a character peering through a camera lens to signify detachment, erratic behavior, and the bittersweet relief of finally breaking free. Bobby Spell notes that the Black EP is delightfully deceptive, opening with the energetic momentum of “You Are So Wired” before diving into melancholy, introspective tracks that evoke isolation while maintaining a comforting sense of hope.
