Award-winning singer-songwriter Lynn Hollyfield has released her new contemporary folk single and accompanying music video titled Blindspot. The track serves as the lead track from her fourth studio album, Diving In.

The song emerged from personal grief following the loss of both a family member and a close friend to the fentanyl crisis. Working alongside Grammy-nominated producer Seth Glier during the Dar Williams Songwriter Retreat in August 2025, Hollyfield channeled the complex aftermath of bereavement into her writing. The lyrics grapple with retrospective questions regarding emotional presence and missed opportunities to offer support before tragedy struck.

Behind the Album Production

Recording for Diving In took place during a frantic five-day window in December 2025 at Ghost Hit Recording Studios located in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The sessions unfolded inside a historic New England church converted into a professional tracking space while snow fell outside.

Hollyfield tracked the eleven album tracks live in a circle alongside an ensemble of notable roots musicians. The recording lineup features Seth Glier, Abbie Gardner, Reed Sutherland, Rob Griffith, and Kelly Halloran. Capturing the performances in a shared acoustic room preserves the raw, organic energy of traditional Americana production without relying on heavy digital correction.

Musical Style and Influences

Hollyfield crafts her arrangements using a distinct blend of contemporary folk structures, jazz-influenced chord progressions, and blues guitar phrasing.
