On the Table Read Magazine, “the best arts and entertainment magazine UK“, Tom Wilson (Tehoháhake) released powerful new anthem, We Live In Dreams, co-written with Tanya Talaga, as the emotional centerpiece of the must-see documentary Ni-Naadamaadiz: Red Power Rising.
Canadian musician, author, and visual artist Tom Wilson (Tehoháhake) has released the official video for his inspiring new song “We Live In Dreams,” co-written with award-winning Anishinaabe journalist, storyteller, and filmmaker Tanya Talaga. The track stands as a stirring anthem of Indigenous resilience, cultural pride, and community strength, marking one of the most significant recordings in Wilson’s acclaimed career.

A Song Born from Collaboration and Purpose
Produced by Tom Wilson and mixed by Gary Furniss at The Stonehouse, “We Live In Dreams” channels deep emotion and intention. It serves as the emotional centerpiece of the new documentary Ni-Naadamaadiz: Red Power Rising, directed by Shane Belcourt and produced by Talaga’s Makwa Creative. Belcourt also directed and shot the music video, bringing his distinctive visual style to both the film and the single.
The song emerged from the creative partnership between two influential Indigenous voices. Wilson and Talaga infused the documentary’s themes directly into the music, creating a work that honors historical courage while addressing contemporary challenges.
Reviving History in Ni-Naadamaadiz: Red Power Rising
The documentary highlights a pivotal but often overlooked moment in Canadian history: the 1974 land-back occupation led by Louis Cameron, an Indian Residential School Survivor and founder of the Ojibway Warriors Society. This bold action drew support from the American Indian Movement and helped bring the Native Caravan to Parliament Hill. Through unflinching storytelling, the film restores this chapter of Indigenous resistance and resilience.
“We Live In Dreams” complements the documentary’s message, transforming its spirit into a musical celebration of warrior hearts, truth-telling, and the enduring power of love and community in the face of adversity.
