On The Table Read Magazine, “the best entertainment magazine in the UK“, Australian garage rock four-piece Lipstereo have released their debut single, Little Spaceships.

Lipstereo

Lipstereo is a young Australian indie rock band made up of four members from Melbourne, Australia. This group of music tragics, which was formed in 2019, came together because they were both obsessed with The Strokes, Weezer, and Arctic Monkeys’ back catalogs.

Lipstereo creates performances that are reminiscent of late nights at CBGB and drinking drinks that are just a little bit too cheap on the floor by channeling an excessive amount of time spent watching worn-out Ramones and Blondie VHS tapes as children.

Sam Stranges, the frontman of Lipstereo, plays rhythm guitar and vocals. Andrew Stainsby plays lead guitar, Tage Hosking-Gregory plays bass, and Jesse Porter plays drums. Lipstereo’s high-energy live shows will take them all over Melbourne before the lockdown in 2019 and 2020. They combine loud guitars with a post-punk songwriting sensibility to create music that, in a parallel universe, would be on Phil Spector’s Spotify playlist.

Lipstereo is one of the most promising alternative bands in Melbourne. They recently released their four-track debut EP, Modern Mythology, at Thirty Mill Studios with engineer Colin Wynne and top Australian record producer Mark Opitz (AC/DC, INXS, Cold Chisel). Since then, the band has received praise from numerous publications, including Rolling Stone Australia, NME, ABC Rage, and Noise 11.

Little Spaceships

The relatable feeling of being left behind when friends and loved ones move on is depicted in their single “Little Spaceships.”

“Little Spaceships” combines post-punk songwriting sensibility with cutting vocals, adrenaline-pumping guitar riffs, and playful bass to create music that, in a parallel universe, would be on Phil Spector’s Spotify playlist.
