His advice, from somebody who has been there, is to make these six commitments to yourself, and to keep them.

Even though the book can be helpful to anyone, Rosseau says that young people, especially those who have humble beginnings and find it hard to see a way out, are his target audience. He wants to be able to demonstrate to people from the ‘hood that you can succeed without having to be a rapper, play basketball, or sell drugs. He wanted to drive a Lexus back into his old neighborhood and demonstrate to them how he had achieved success in a different way. But more importantly, he wanted to demonstrate to people that they could, too.
