Simon Robinson delves into the fascinating stories behind each album cover, revealing the creative processes, inspirations, and challenges faced by the artists who brought these visions to life. These insights offer a deeper appreciation for the artistic genius and cultural significance of these works.

Easy On The Eye decided that while these covers are strange for any number of reasons, so this book aims to tackle the subject properly, with input from Steve, some of the artists, collectors and designers, to find out what really happened.

Simon Robinson, who has produced many sleeve designs himself (happily none of which feature here!) and researched the subject for many years, has written the text.

How did Steve start out on this largely undocumented area of vinyl collecting?

About 40 years ago as a teenager I bought an album called Roadstar by the unremembered Peter Rabbitt, just because it had such a strange cover. I lost it later and had never been able to find another copy.

Today with the internet he was able to replace this lost gem and in doing so felt he had found his vocation. His journey into charity shops, car boot sales and the internet began in earnest, and continues.

Steve organises regular exhibitions, with venues booked into 2025 (details on the Easy On The Eye website), and continues to add gems to his collection.
