According to new data from PA Casino, Benedict Cumberbatch is the most successful actor to never have won an Oscar. To find the most successful Hollywood stars who have never won an Oscar, they scraped over 1,000 films on IMDb of famous Hollywood stars ahead of the 95th Academy Awards Ceremony on March 12, to discover their average ratings and the most successful actor.

Methodology

1. PA Casino set out to find the most successful actors and actresses without an Oscar nomination.

2. A seed list of forty A-List actors and actresses was compiled from a variety of online resources, including https://screenrant.com and https://www.ranker.com.

3. The average rating was determined by mining IMDb data from each movie’s ratings. After that, it was repeated for each actor. e.g., where Benedict Cumberbatch got his movie ratings http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1212722

4. The top 15 ratings were used for the working dataset, and the actor with the highest average film-rating was dubbed the “most successful actor to not win an Oscar.” After that, all ratings were ranked in descending order.

5. This information was gathered on March 1, 23 and is current.
