Having been diagnosed during childhood, A.M.Burn understands only too well the challenges faced by those with dyslexia, and has created a page-turner of a read and a main character that is instantly relatable to all those who struggle at school

While aimed at children aged 9-12, William’s story has already also been enjoyed by adults as it immerses readers in a high-tech magical world, in which Burn’s passion for engineering stands out. This story also shouts from the rooftops that the neurodivergent traits of its main characters are gifts to be developed and trained, rather than educated away.

36-year-old engineer A.M.Burn overcame childhood dyslexia with the help of Moon Hall, a specialist school. This transformative experience allowed him to achieve what he once believed was unattainable: a university education.

His personal journey and determination through education and the 5 years he spent writing The Makers of Magic  – The Four Winds serve as the inspiration for those who struggle with education and completing goals that take a long time.

By infusing this fantastic book with his creativity, love of engineering and life experience, Alex hopes to encourage young adults who are neurodiverse to see their uniqueness as a source of strength and draw more people into engineering, to be part of designing the world of the future.
