Acclaimed songwriter Matt Koelsch has released his new single, PartTime Lover, about the struggles of temporary love.

To create the sound, Matt collaborated with session musicians including Jake Reed (Katy Perry, LA Philharmonic) on drums, and Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie, Tedeschi Trucks Band, John Mayer) on bass, powerful brass musicians, Evan Hatfield, Ben Burget and Jim Hopson, and violinist Rebecca Schlappich Charles (Ben Harper, Chance the Rapper, Deadmau5).

The tracked was mixed by Bryan Cook (One Republic, U2, Radiohead) and mastered by Robert L. Smith (Aerosmith, Michael Buble, Lenny Kravitz) in New York City.

Matt Koelsch’s Career

Matt Koelsch has excelled in his work as a full time musician. He has sold in excess of 3,000 physical records and achieved 500,000-plus streams across platforms, and performed over 1,000 gigs and shows. At times, he has performed in as many as 170 shows in a year, sharign the stage with members of legendary bands such as REM, Pink Floyd, and Toto and played alongside contestants of The Voice and American Idol.

For several years, he and his band held a residency at Disney in Anaheim, California. He performed for an audience of over 5,000 people at the Lights Festival in Barstow. A Passion For Music

Koelsch was awarded a summer scholarship to Berklee College of Music before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Providence College. He supplemented his musical education with classes at Providence College and UMASS Amherst.

Throughout the pandemic, Koelsch worked at Herb Alpert Music in Los Angeles, his classic-centric studies have included harmony, composition, production, ear-training, piano, guitar and choir across a variety of genres.

Having previously produced music at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, California, Matt is now diving deeper into the world of production and composition. Recently, he’s been hired to produce for emerging artists, and he is in the process of scoring music for an independent drama/suspense film.

His new album showcases Koelsch’s range with edgy stories told in uptempo splashy brass alongside lush, symphonic string romances, layered with light electronic elements. These fun, heartfelt singles will be released via indie imprint Turbulent Records and will be available on all streaming and viewing platforms.
