Everyone experiences the menopause differently. Some have an easy time, with few (if any) symptoms, while others have troublesome symptoms for months, or even years. If your partner’s going through the menopause, how can you support them?
The Menopause Exchange Newsletter
In the Summer 2021 issue of The Menopause Exchange newsletter, Dr Vikram Talaulikar, specialist in reproductive medicine, gives a brief summary of the menopause and how it can affect sex and relationships, along with practical advice.
“There are many ways to help your partner,” says Norma Goldman, founder and director of The Menopause Exchange. “This may involve understanding their symptoms, recognising mood swings, encouraging them to speak to their GP if they’re struggling and offering practical help if they need it.”
The Menopause Exchange, which was established in 1999, is completely independent and is not sponsored by any companies. It provides impartial, easily understood information to women, men and healthcare professionals. The Menopause Exchange quarterly newsletter contains articles written by top medical experts, such as gynaecologists, GPs, consultants, specialist menopause nurses, complementary practitioners, pharmacists, dietitians etc.

Norma’s ‘Understanding the menopause’ webinar is suitable for women at or approaching the menopause, women who have had a premature menopause (before age 40) or a hysterectomy, or anyone with an interest in women’s midlife health.
