I feel I wrote my first book Almighty Allmachtig to save myself. So eight years ago I was in the midst of depression and needed to focus on something that would take me away from everyday life. I wondered what I used to love doing and then I remembered that was writing, something I had not done for years.

Starting To Write

At the time of writing I was working as a care worker looking after people with learning difficulties, and being interested in World war two I began reading about how the disabled were treated.

I wrote a story about how they were treated as I wanted to be a voice for all people in society that are deemed different. Having dyslexia myself I know how it feels to be treated differently, and I believe everyone should be treated fairly.

Almighty Allmachtig

The story itself I would like to think is a bit of a thriller as well, as you can read about how my main character Fabienne tackled the Nazi’s by trying to keep the children she supported alive, betrayal and abuse from her Father.

Here is my blurb for Almighty Allmachtig:

Just before the outbreak of World War II, Fabienne, a young German girl flees her abusive, widowed father and takes a job, caring for disabled children in a home on the outskirts of Berlin. When Jurgen, a young soldier, turns up on the doorstep of the home, asking if he can take Fabienne to the local dance, the women running the organisation agree, against their better judgement.

Soon the young couple are in love. With the rise of Hitler and the Nazi party, comes persecution of anyone seen to be “inferior to the German master race”. This includes children with disabilities and Fabienne and the women flee the Nazi wrath, taking the vulnerable children with them on an epic journey across Germany.

Some will survive the Nazi punishments, others will not. But in the background is her relationship with Jurgen. Will he stay loyal or betray her to his masters in the Nazi party?

When she hears that her father is in jail, awaiting the death penalty for murder, she is forced to come out of hiding to visit him and make her peace. The risk is enormous, but in doing so, Fabienne learns some extraordinary news, which changes the course of her life. There is something dark from her family’s past that is controlling her present, will it destroy everything.

The Writing Bug

I brought out Almighty Allmachtig in two thousand and nine and I have received a lot of good reviews. I would love it to reach a bigger audience for it to get more recognition. I now have the writing bug and have never returned to those dark days.

I have since written and published on Amazon Almighty’s sequel called Devil’s refuel in the historical fiction genre, and I have also written and made with my own children three children’s books.

People have told me that you should always write in the same genre if you want to get recognised, but I personally want to write in every genre and publish it to test myself. I am a proud indie author who dreams of making my books big one day, and if I could be an author as a full time job I would love it.
